THE REALITY CHECK NO ONE ASKED FOR
I don’t even know why or for who I write down the things I post out here, maybe they are a letter to myself down the road when no one will be around me to tell things that ran through my head back then. I even know not many are interested to go through a few words of personal experience from a fellow broken person of this so-called GEN-Z (not even a clue who coined them X, Y, and Z). The point is that not many people of this Z are really having any zeal, interest, or even love for what they are and what they are turning out to be. People have evolved so well since early civilization, first, they invented glue to piece together broken things, and then they invented pretention and illusion which just had to create an impression that things aren’t broken and be done with it. That’s the recipe for the perfectly happy person from this current gen.
We are but a misinformed, misled, and completely screwed up
generation and this isn’t by force but by choice. You might say, hey what is so
different from our predecessors and where did we go wrong? In fact, we now have
more mainstream comforts that they couldn’t even try to imagine back when they
were us. Yes, I agree 100% that we are more privileged than their imagination could
ever catch up to, our normalcy is a once-in-a-lifetime luxury for them. But,
with all bad, unwanted, and unworthy privilege also comes the prick in our inner
selves. Our predecessors struggled all their lives to make our lives better, and more comfortable and there is nothing wrong with them doing that but it is wrong
of them to expect that we will receive all of these comforts and be as thankful
as they would’ve been if they had them back then. The thing we consider a
struggle right now is a comfort for them back then.
We are now far more disconnected from our roots than ever before
because now that we have multimedia and an abundance of content just lying there
for us to watch, we fancy and admire stuff that we can never be and forget our
own strengths and forte to become a mere admirer of a flashy work of some so-called
influencer. I mean we can’t blame them either, the clout they generate is definitely
an aspirational group to be part of. People are finding relatability more easily than
ever before to support their foolish assumptions that their hormones are making
them assume. We’ve completely succumbed to the hope of being a better person by
being a part of something we are clearly not just for the reason we will get
validation and support for being who we are either good or bad.
Relationships like love, friendship, or even animosity aren’t
as strong and passionate as they once were. The simple reason behind it is that fiction and virtual have become so deeply rooted in our society that the separation
between realism and virtualism is nothing but a thin line of not physically
feeling which will also soon be overcome by some other modern technology to
stimulate our senses of a particular feeling. With all the metaverse and
its similar tech, feeling stuff virtually is also a near feat for humanity.
Human beings generally have a mesh to filter out people. Back
then, there used to be many racist topics that acted as the filter, and with
time the filter kept changing its form but never did it truly vanish. Even now, racism of some sort is clearly evident in society and has become some kind
of an integral part of it. It has greatly decreased from ancient times. Meshes
always exist, be it in form of racism or some other way. What matters is how
much of a gap your mesh keeps to allow people into your life. The lesser soon
to be declared taboos you add up to make the mesh stronger, the more people will
exist in your life.
GEN-Z, as much of a pathetic name it is, also foreshadows that
we will be the last generation to make any sense at all that existed because
our spoiled asses can never teach the next generation the concepts of gratitude,
harmony, community, peace, or even basic human emotions for that matter because
people will almost already have the kind of feelings that need to be felt
written down in a manual.
Piece.
